Church of St. Alphonsus, Singapore

The seal of the Congregation consists of a cross with a lance and sponge mounted on three hills; on either side of the cross are the abbreviated names of Jesus and Mary; above the cross is an eye sending forth rays; over all a crown. Around the seal is the motto: “Copiosa apud eum redemptio” or “With Him there is Plentiful Redemption”. [Cfr. Psalm 130 (129):7]

- General Statutes of the Redemptorists, No. 06

The motto the Congregation "Copiosa apud eum redemptio". Like St. Alphonsus, the Redemptorists follow Jesus the Redeemer in preaching this Good News to the poor, the most abandoned and spiritually neglected, from the successful business executive who feels a desperate emptiness to the young teenager lost in anxieties. The aim of each Redemptorist is to be an instrument of God's infinite love and compassion to this broken world.

Vision and Mission of the Redemptorists in Singapore

Vision: To become a shrine and a home where all are welcome to find prayer and peace, healing and hope, life and love.

Mission: Redemptorists, Lay-Ministers and Devotees, as a community under the care of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, we commit ourselves to evangelization, authentic worship and service to the poor and abandoned, leading all to an experience of plantiful redemption.

“Acquire the habit of speaking to God as if you were alone with Him, familiarly and with confidence and love, as to the dearest and most loving of friends. Speak to Him often of your business, your plans, your troubles, your fears — of everything that concerns you. Converse with Him confidently and frankly; for God is not wont to speak to a soul that does not speak to Him.”

(St. Alphonsus Liguori)
